About

Omar Khan is a director, facilitator and writer based in the Midlands. His works spans theatre, film, audio, photography and VR; and explores political & social issues that he shares a personal connection with, including; grief, spirituality and identity. He is also a musician and a DJ.

His work is deeply rooted in contemporary cultural discourse, often touching on our connection to the plant we live on. Omar’s work aims to challenge people's existing perspectives, offering audiences and collaborators a different way of seeing the world. 

He is the current recipient of the Florence Kleiner Bursary at The Old Vic. Previously, he was a recipient of RTYDS’s 18 Month Residency, where he was placed at Derby Theatre and directed the regional premiere of ‘Mr Burns: A Post Electric Play’. 

He is also an alumnus of Birmingham REP’s Foundry scheme & Tamasha’s Directors Programme He is an alumnus of New Perspectives Associate Programme. He was long listed for the Sir Peter Hall Award in 2024 & 2025.
